WHO'S SIBYLLE BAIER?
Sibylle Baier is a German actress and folk singer. During her son's childhood, she recorded
an album on reel to reel tape during his naptimes. The tapes went undiscovered for years until
that same son discovered them as an adult. One thing led to another, and they were compiled into
a formal album and published in 2006. Her style has been compared to Lenard Cohen or Nick Drake.
I feel like she can also be compared to Vashti Bunyan's style.
In terms of acting work, Sibylle and her children appear in the 1973 movie "Alice in the Cities." Her
music is featured in "Hugs and Other Things" (1975) and Palermo Shooting (2005). Sibylle eventually moved to the
US and focused on raising a family rather than a career in entertainment.
